Yeah, i am astounded. I have been to many many places since my last entry and i hav emuch to say. But i dont like this keyboard so i probably wont succeed in writing down everything. Te only solace you guys have is that my jounal is quite the same... although a little more up to date.. not much, just a out a week and a half i think. haha
Anyways, after french switzerland i went back into german switzerland (yes i love the german language yeah yea yeah). I went to Bern. Oh! by the way, i figured out why i liked french switzerland so much, o relaly.. more to the point Vevey. I got to cycle there!! I have realised for me to get in touch with the city, the essence of it, is to cycle in it! Unfortunately, one usually has to pay for the usage of a bicycle. Back to the topic... Bern has the free bike rental service too. Good for Bern! However, sadly i still prefer Vevey to Bern. I think the french part has a lot to do with it, along with my possibly perverse perception of the French and their culture.
Anyhow, i certainly crap a lot for someone who has a lot, too much to write about. Bern, as it turns out is the capital of Switzerland. Yes yes... i am so ignorant. Its incredible! I can scantly believe any country would have such a capital! Before go on, thats meant as a compliment! The unique little downtown that is Bern is possbly the most quaint downtown for any capital in the world! If you have been to Penang, Malaysia, youd think the downtown area was full of heritage. Bern is quite the same!, if not more so! Over there, at least the take care to maintain the appearance.
I must say however, the colour of the stones are quite depressing. A few ( well more than a few) uber colourful fountains dont really help much... Sadly the fountain i really wanted to take a picture of, the pied piper fountain (ring bells people!?! i hope you guys did nursery rhymes or kids books!) was moved to somewhere unknown to me. There really isnt anything spectacular to do... the view from Rose garden isnt that great... i think u need to be much higher up in the air for that postcard view of Bern. I was all blocked by trees!!!
For all you out there who are interested in Einstein... Bern is the place where he did all his serious thinking: this is where he came out with his theory of relativity. Maybe we should all go to a depressing coloured (dirty green) city, drink a lot of wine/beer, start to see colours in the dull green hue that surrounds you and viola! light can be relative!!!
Alright, i am changing computers... no promises for anything though!!
